\nTranscript:
\n
\naal4me2: Hi Katie.
\nme: Hi
\nHow are you?
\naal4me2: Doing well. And you?
\nme: I haven't removed the comments yet from my partner's wikipage for my linked lesson. I sent her an email asking her permission. I think I am going to just going to do what I had planned initially and move it over to a newly created wiki page and relink.
\nI am good.
\nDid you see my email to Dr. M about the marking tool?
\nI don't know if I phrased it exactly the way I should have.
\naal4me2: It probably would save some grief to just copy the lesson onto another wiki page. That way you don't have to fool with the history.
\nme: Yes, I think I will do that. I will do it after our meeting.
\naal4me2: I saw the email you sent on the brochure. So no response yet?
\nme: She sent us a response, but just said based on my email, that it seemed fine. She had not had a chance to look at it at that moment cause she was at a car dealership. That is why I hoped I asked her the right question and explained it well enough.
\naal4me2: Hm.
\nI don't know.
\nIt seemed clear enough to me.
\nme: Okay, great.
\nYou want to go over the rubric?
\naal4me2: Since we have this concern
\nme: Yep?
\naal4me2: I started reviewing all the documents available that gives ideas, instructions, etc for this assignemt
\nasignment
\nme: So what's the consensus on what you reviewed?
\naal4me2: The assignement sheet has a very interesting statement that causes me more concern.
\nme: What is that?
\naal4me2: In the section "Assignment-ON GOING ...
\n"
\nbullet 8 says
\nme: I see it.
\nSo what do you think we need to do at this point?
\naal4me2: "Create a marketing tool...to promote one or more roles and responsibilities of the school librarian and the library program
\n"
\nme: I guess when we created it I thought that by linking the personal information, the Glog and the things the librarian does as well as the collaboration section that we covered it, but maybe not?
\nThat is why I was hoping she would look at it.
\nMaybe we could change some of the wording in the brochure to make it more overtly related to this.
\naal4me2: That
\n's what I was thinking.
\nme: Like insert the phrase in several of the sections that we are there to collaborate and co-teach?
\naal4me2: I'm looking at the Perez sample
\nme: And support?
\nI saw that.
\nI am going from memory. I
\naal4me2: and her brochure is really like an advertisement in the information it contains.
\nOurs is more informational\\
\nme: Do we want to just go ahead and quickly create a bookmark to handout to teachers that outlines the role of the librarian.
\naal4me2: Maybe
\non one side can be the roles
\nme: I think ours is a marketing tool. That is the very nature of the brochure. It is informing our patrons and teachers what we are offering for them, but it is not focusing so much on what our roles and responsibilities are as a school librarian throughout.
\naal4me2: and on the other side communication information?
\nme: It does do that on the Collaboration Is Key! section, which I thought helped meet this criteria initially, but now, I don't know.
\nWhat about other people's marketing tools?
\nI need to see what others have done.
\naal4me2: I'm just now opening our brochure to see what we may be able to tweek
\nme: For me, when looking at the rubric, it says, "The marketing tool is targeted for a specific audience. It capitalizes on the slogan andn provides exemplary examples of ways the school librarian serves as an instructional partner."
\nI think we show ways that we serve as an instructional partner throughout.
\nIn the services we offer, the programs, the up-coming events, the collaboration is key section.
\nLet me open it up as well.
\nOkay, I have it open.
\naal4me2: I think the Library Services section is good. It tells what roles are played by librarian and library
\nme: Suggestion 1: Under top left section, we could write under the "May Library Lessons & Story Time," something like, (Set up a time with your librarian to collaborate, lesson plan, and let me help you support your curriculum)
\naal4me2: I agree that the Collaborattion is Key section meets the criteria
\nme: Good
\nDo we want to change library to librarian in the Library Services section?
\nSay, Our librarian offers the following...
\nfor our teachers and larger educational community.
\nAdd in teachers in front of educational community.
\naal4me2: Maybe "Our librarian and library program...
\nme: That is good.
\naal4me2: ...for our teachers and edudcational community.
\n"
\nLol
\nme: Like it!
\naal4me2: Do you want me to do it?
\nme: Yes please.
\naal4me2: Oh
\nmaybe at the end of that section say
\nanother bullet with
\nLibrarian\/Teacher collaboration
\nme: Perfect
\nAlso, in the section feature Hypatia,
\naal4me2: ok I'm going in.
\nme: We could put a comma after her name, Dimple, and say, "Hypatia Opal Dimple, a leader, a teacher, a collaborator, and a librarian.
\nI don't know...that may be cheesy, but it gets more of those roles injected into the brochure
\naal4me2: Give me a sec on that one
\nOk
\nme: Oh sure.
\naal4me2: I put in Librarian\/Teacher lesson collaboration
\nme: and if you don't like where I suggested putting it or don't want to that is fine as well
\naal4me2: I'm having technical difficulties
\nme: Uh oh.
\nwhat is happening?
\naal4me2: Actually some of the text fell off and I'm trying to get it back where it is visible
\nme: Oh, because we typed beyond the box boundaries?
\naal4me2: I.E. the box is to small for the amount of text
\nme: Gotcha
\naal4me2: I'm making adjustments
\nme: I have troubles with that kind of thing
\nOkay. I can wait; I have the time.
\naal4me2: Ok that section is done.
\nme: Yay!
\nGood job formatting guru
\naal4me2: What was that other idea?
\nThank you very much
\nme: In the section feature Hypatia, here is an idea I threw out, but we may want to tweak it or not go with it:We could put a comma after her name, Dimple, and say, "Hypatia Opal Dimple, a leader, a teacher, a collaborator, and a librarian. I don't know...that may be cheesy, but it gets more of those roles injected into the brochure
\nOr, a 21st-Century Library
\nI don't know.
\nI thought that may be a good page to do it, but we also link to the Portrait of a Collaborator, which I think does that as well.
\naal4me2: Maybe make a roles section with that information in it?
\nme: Sure
\nThat is a good idea. Can you make it fit?
\naal4me2: The interests could be consolidated to two bullets
\nM, A, P, R and L
\nand
\nI have been
\n...
\nI'm going to try
\nme: Okay, consolidating those is a good idea.
\naal4me2: Q,\\: should the interests all be capitalized or just the first word in each bullet
\n?
\nme: I think just the first word in the bullet since none of those are proper nouns
\naal4me2: Ok. that part is done, I'm now adding in the roles and responsibilities section
\nme: Okay, you are motoring through this. Nice work
\naal4me2: "My Roles and Responsibilities:"
\nbullet
\n"Leader, teacher, librarian, and collaborator"
\nme: I like it!
\nYes
\naal4me2: Ok
\nme: Perfect
\naal4me2: now I need to get the poem back in there
\nme: what about adding, instructional supporter
\nOh, let's leave what you had then.
\nMaybe reduce the font size on that a bit?
\naal4me2: Hmmmm
\nme: Do you think we should delete it?
\nI just had it cause it tied in with the logo\/slogan
\naal4me2: One more line to go...the author's name
\nme: Whooohooo! You are working your formatting magic.
\nIt is a skill I admire.
\nI need to develop that skill more.
\naal4me2: Got it! Woo hoo!
\nme: Congratulations!
\nYou are a rockstar!
\nI could have done it, but it probably would have taken two to three times as long.
\naal4me2: Any other thoughts on brochure adjustments before I send it to you to see?
\nme: Let me look one more time.
\nI just noticed something in the bottom middle section.
\nRead the last paragraph. I think there is a mistake in the latter part of that paragraph that I am just now noticing
\n"who value collaborative learning as much as their teachers and librarians do."
\nI think "librarians" is a typo.
\nI think we should reword to "who value learning as much as their teachers and parents do."
\naal4me2: Yep
\nme: I would get rid of collaborative in the latter part of that sentence because not all teachers or parents value collaborative learning.
\naal4me2: I don't know...
\nme: What do you want to do there?
\naal4me2: some parents don't value reading or learning
\nand the preservice teachers and administrators that are our audience may realize that
\nme: Okay, so maybe we can just assume the parents we are talking about do value both reading, learning, and collaboration and just exchange out librarians for parents.
\naal4me2: so would teachers that the brochure is geared to
\nme: Okay, so maybe we could say
\naal4me2: how about
\nme: "we also want to be a part of turning our students into life-long learners with a passion for reading and who value collaborative learning."
\nget red of last line
\nThat may be best.
\naal4me2: "as much as, if not more than, their teachers, librarian, and parents do."
\nand leave out the "colalborative"
\nso would be "who value learning"
\nme: We can do your suggestion. What do you think about mine?
\nDo you think we would insult the teachers and parents by saying, "if not more than"
\naal4me2: So
\n"we also want to be a part of turning our students into life-long learners with a passion for reading and who value "
\nme: We could say, "we also want to be a part of turning our students into life-long learners with a passion for reading and strong technological and collaborative skills that will help them succeed in a 21st-Century world.
\naal4me2: I like that better
\nme: Okay.
\naal4me2: I'm going in
\nme: alrighty...excited
\nI am glad you asked about this brochure last night and that we decided to make some final revisions.
\naal4me2: Done
\nme: Awesome1
\nThat was supposed to be an exclamation point on the end of that word.
\nOkay, ready to post for us to view?
\naal4me2: One last thing
\nme: Yep?
\naal4me2: Do you know how to get rid of the squiggles?
\nme: What squiggles? Where?
\naal4me2: I forgot that they'd be there since this is a Word document
\nme: Oh, like the grammar squiggles?
\nI don't know.
\nCan this be saved as a pdf?
\nI don't know how pdf works.
\naal4me2: Yes, spelling and grammar squiggles
\nI don't have the tool to do it here at home. For the resume I did it at work and sent it out from there.
\nme: I do not know how to do that. I wonder if there is a way to lock the document and that would do it.
\nWhat tool was it?
\naal4me2: the one at work is called CutePDF
\ninstead of saving you print to CutePDF and it lets you save it as pdf
\nme: Is that a downloaded tool?
\naal4me2: I have no idea.
\nme: Okay, if you can post the most recent draft you did, I think I can save it to a pdf because I just looked, and i have that capability.
\naal4me2: I'm pretty sure there is a way of turning off the squiggles feature but I'm not finding it.
\nme: Not the cute thing, but it let me save RD 7 as a pdf.
\naal4me2: Oh , great
\nme: Funny. I didn't know I could do that.
\naal4me2: One moment please
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: It's attaching to the email now.
\nWhen you get it walk me through what you do to see if maybe I can do it too and just didn't know it.
\ndon't
\n:)
\nme: I just went to Save As and then clicked on where it said "Word Document" and a list of document types pulled up and one was pdf.
\naal4me2: still attaching
\nme: so I selected that one.
\naal4me2: sending
\nI included Melissa on the email
\nhmmm
\nlet me see if i can do that
\nme: Okay. I am pulling up your attachment now while you do that.
\naal4me2: Hmm
\nI'm having to download something but it just my work
\nme: Great.
\nI also just emailed you back the pdf version of the brochure.
\nWill you check and make sure it worked?
\naal4me2: Opening it now
\nme: Great!
\naal4me2: Yeah! It looks good. no squiggles!
\nme: I am so glad.
\naal4me2: Do you want to attach it to the wikis or shall I?
\nme: Okay, so I just need to add that to our wikispaces wiki and the pioneer wiki.
\nBefore we move on, may I ask you how you and Melissa changed the page names?
\nI guess page name links?
\nCarrie, my A.4.2 partner said her and her group need help with this.
\nShe asked if I knew or could ask you.
\naal4me2: Hold on a sec while I open Pioneer wiki up and see what i did
\nme: Oh, thanks so much Aida.
\naal4me2: On page with link
\nedit
\nme: Yep.
\nIn upper toolbar?
\naal4me2: yep
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: highlight link words
\nme: So type the new page name and highlight those words?
\naal4me2: Yes
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: or if the link already exists highlight the old and change it to what want
\ntool bar
\nAdd link
\nbrowse pages & files
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: search or scroll until find page want to link to
\npick it
\nif want it to open in a new window pick that
\nthen
\nInsert Link
\nand the new link should be done
\nme: Great! Thanks so much. I will send these instructions to her.
\naal4me2: glad to be of help
\nme: Want to go over the rubric now?
\nI imagine you have already done so.
\nI read through it earlier today.
\naal4me2: Yes I have
\nThree times
\nODC
\nme: :)
\naal4me2: sigh
\nme: How are you feeling so far?
\nDo you feel we are nearing the end?
\nI need to add that pdf brochure link.
\naal4me2: Pretty good
\nme: Okay.
\nanything you think of that we have forgotten to do?
\naal4me2: I haven't looked
\nIs Mary and my prezi put in?
\nme: Carrie just said I could delete the comments on her wiki, so I am just going to do that.
\naal4me2: Do I need to do that?
\nme: Then I do not have to relink the lesson plan.
\nOh, I don't know. Let me look.
\naal4me2: Yep. There it is
\nme: I see it.
\nYay!
\naal4me2: I just fixed a space error
\non it
\nme: I saw that.
\naal4me2: on the rubric
\nfor elevator speech
\nme: yes.
\nThe first page or second?
\naal4me2: do we have the documentation of collaboration on it?
\nme: There are two places where it talks about the elevator speech.
\nI think the page itself shows the revisions we inserted.
\naal4me2: Content:Artifacts
\nme: I don't know if we documented it in our discussion tab or not.
\naal4me2: Nope
\ntry
\nText: Elevator speech
\nNever mind
\nme: If you look on the planning page, you will see where it shows that we collaborated on it.
\naal4me2: Our collaboration is shown by the different colors of text
\nOk
\nme: We may need to mention in the text box when we turn it in that we started planning there and that is where a lot of the initial negotiation began--on th eplanning page and ont he A.4.2 link
\naal4me2: so i can check that off
\nme: good
\nI love checking things off.
\naal4me2: In the text box?
\nme: You know, when we submit an assignment, there is always a place to put comments? (I cal it a text box, but I meant comment box).
\naal4me2: Ohhh
\nthere
\nme: When I want to give her more clarification, I do it there.
\naal4me2: Ok that's a good idea
\nme: My understanding is when we turn it in, one does the rubric, and the other submits the urls?
\nI mean others submit the urls?
\nSo two people turn in the same thing--the urls?
\naal4me2: Hold on while I look for that
\nme: Okay.
\naal4me2: The Assignment Sheet says
\n"One member of the team will submit Rubric 4.3 ... with the top part completed via the Assignment tool in Module 4.3.
\nThe other member or members of the team will submit the URL for your Pioneer Shcool Library librarian's homepage."
\nThe Module 4.3 instructions say:
\nme: I take it from that, that two people submit the url for library home page.
\naal4me2: "One person will turn in the link to your Pioneer School Library pages. The other(s) will turn in the rubric with the top portion completed."
\nSo
\nin one place two people turn in the URL
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: in the other place two people turn in the rubric
\nSo probably to be on the safe side
\nme: Oh, I am confused now.
\nI always get confused.
\non the turn in directions.
\naal4me2: one turns in the URL
\non turns in the rubric
\nand one turns in both
\nme: :)
\nOkay
\naal4me2: Confusion dispelled?
\nme: Yes.
\naal4me2: ok
\nme: "dispelled" love that word and haven't heard it in awhile
\naal4me2: I have everything on the rubric checked off
\ndispelled could be misspelled
\ndisspelled???
\nnaaa
\nme: I like the first one, but who knows?
\nI have used the word; don't think I have ever written it down.
\nAny other questions that came up for you?
\naal4me2: me neither
\nHow do you feel about the rubric?
\nme: I feel good.
\naal4me2: Are we confident we have no grammar or spelling errors\/
\n?
\nme: I think we may need to let her know which page to find where we negotiated the name, instructional level, slogan, etc, but I feel good.
\naal4me2: Ok
\nme: I am confident that it is good, but I will give it another review tomorrow before we meet.
\nI find that I don't always see the errors the first or second time.
\naal4me2: so each of us should make that comment in the comment box? or just the ones turning in URL?
\nme: Like with the brochure tonight.
\nI say, let's all three do it.
\naal4me2: Ok
\nall three
\nme: We can draft a common message and copy and paste in
\naal4me2: remind me?
\nOk that's good
\nme: I will
\nWant to close for the night?
\naal4me2: I was also perusing the additional Q to consider from the announcements
\nThere are parts there I'm not sure about
\nme: Shoot
\naal4me2: "How will you introduce each resource?"
\nDo we have good intros to everthign?
\nthing
\nme: That is what the small introductions before each link are for.
\nI think so.
\naal4me2: Good check
\n"Have you included your slogan as branding on ALL of your Wiki pages and documents?"
\nI'm thinking of the resume and the glogster
\nme: Oh.
\nYou know what?
\nI didn't think of the resume or glogster.
\nI don't think we need it on the resume.
\nGlogster might be good
\nI know you guys have it on all the pages.
\naal4me2: I will try to add it to the glogster
\nme: I don't think it would work to add to our collaborative lessons.
\naal4me2: Does the animoto have it?
\nme: The main document we created was the brochure, and we have it there.
\nNo.
\nI will create a slide and insert it in and redo the video.
\nGood point.
\naal4me2: Then I think those two will cover that portion.
\nme: Okay. I am so glad you caught that.
\naal4me2: next
\nmarketing tool
\nme: yes
\naal4me2: "Does it synthesize your learning in this course?
\nme: I do believe it does.
\naal4me2: Check
\nDoes your elevator speech focus on practicing job-embedded professional development through instructional partnerships?"
\nI think we took care of that tonight.
\nme: I agree.
\nLook at last thing on that list.
\nI don't know if we did this.
\naal4me2: I'm confusing myself
\nWe worked on the brochure tonight
\nme: Yes.
\naal4me2: I think we're covered there.
\nme: And I guess we did the last thing on the list.
\nBecause that link takes us to the elementary page.
\nOkay.
\nI feel pretty good right now.
\naal4me2: When I first got approved to work on the Pioneer wiki, I went in and added the info that was missing
\nme: Oh, great!
\naal4me2: ok
\nme: My to do list before we meet: 1. delete comments on lesson, 2. add logo to Animoto video, 3. upload pdf brochure to both wikis
\naal4me2: so I will add the slogan and if possible the logo to the Glogster
\nme: Great!
\nI bet you can add it since it is an image.
\naal4me2: Are you going to have time to do all that?
\nme: Yes.
\naal4me2: I could load the brochure pdf tot the wikis\\
\nme: I am probably going to do most of it in the early morning hours.
\nOkay.
\nIf you will load the brochure, that would be great.
\nThanks so much.
\nYou want me to add this transcript tonight?
\nThen, I can delete comments tonight and work on video.
\nshouldn't be too hard
\naal4me2: Sure.
\nme: Great!
\nWhich page?
\nHome page because most of the content was over brochure?
\naal4me2: Should we email it to Melissa to make sure she's in the loop?
\nme: Or content page?
\nyes, we can email her that the transcript is ready for her to read.
\nThen she can ask us questions.
\naal4me2: I think Home page would be more appropriate.
\nOk I'll send her an email too
\nme: Great.
\nI think it is good we will meet one more time tomorrow.
\nIt probably won't take too long either.
\nJust a nice capping off and closure.
\naal4me2: Its at 6:30?
\nme: Yes, 6:30 pm.
\nPlease text me if I forget.
\naal4me2: Ok
\nme: I shouldn't but you never know.
\naal4me2: see you then
\nme: See you then.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"38607040","dateCreated":"1304613755","smartDate":"May 5, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"hickey_k","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/hickey_k","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/shakespearesfaeriedust.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/38607040"},"dateDigested":1531976512,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Lesson Plan Linking with Comments","description":"Hi Ladies,

\nmgarrison6: Hi Aida
\nhickeyk73: Hi Aida.
\nme: What's up?
\nhickeyk73: Hey guys, two questions came up for me when I was looking over our pioneer wiki.
\nme: wa' dat
\nhickeyk73: First, in regards to our resume objective: To share my professional experience, education, organizations, and interests with the stakeholders of Theon Elementary School Library and to collaborate with teachers to create a library environment that promotes life-long student achievement
\nme: yes?
\nhickeyk73: I just noticed that it says "to share my professional experience, education, organizations..."
\nDoes organization fit in that sentence?
\nIt doesn't make sense to me all of a sudden.
\nmgarrison6: because her organization memberships are listed
\nme: so it is her professional E, E, O, and I
\nhickeyk73: Okay.
\nI got it.
\nSecond question.
\nI linked my lesson
\nmgarrison6: yes, I saw that
\nhickeyk73: Well, I noticed that my A.4.2 lesson currently has quite a few comments from Dr. M (which scares me).
\nme: Oh? They're graded?
\nhickeyk73: Do I need to go in and create a new wiki page and transfer that lesson over and delete her comments?
\nNo, not graded yet.
\nShe said in the announcements that she will have grades by Sat.
\nmgarrison6: wow, I didn't know she had made comments on them
\nhickeyk73: But I noticed you guys did not have comments.
\nme: Do you have it saved on a Word doc or something that can be linked to?
\nhickeyk73: And other people's lesson plans do not have comments...
\nEither she hasn't gotten around to it yet, or we did very poorly.
\nmgarrison6: oh, maybe she just hasn't gotten to ours yet
\nhickeyk73: No, we created solely on the wiki.
\nmgarrison6: Are they strong comments, or minor suggestions?
\nI'm sure you didn't do poorly
\nhickeyk73: I can try to create a new wiki page on my wiki and then copy and paste it into there. Hopefully, it won't be too problematice.
\nproblematic
\nmgarrison6: I read your lesson on the peer review, and thought it was great
\nhickeyk73: Some are positive, but several were suggestions or need for clarification or confusion....so...who knows.
\nI won't rest easy until I see the grade.
\nmgarrison6: I think we will all have comments eventually, I'm sure she just hasn't gotten to ours
\nI wouldn't worry about it
\nhickeyk73: Thanks for comforting me.
\n'kay
\nmgarrison6: she knows we are using them in this assignment
\nhickeyk73: That will be my next thing to do. Copy the collaborative lesson over to my wiki and delete the teacher comments so it is clean.
\nThen relink it to our pioneer wiki.
\nme: Since she just go through with the OD grades she probably just got started with the A.4.2
\nI'm sure you did fine
\nhickeyk73: Thanks--you guys are great! Making me feel much better.
\nHave you guys had a chance to see other people's projects? I was skimming some today.
\nmgarrison6: good, I'm glad you feel better
\nno, I haven't yet
\nme: Me neither.
\nmgarrison6: I'm off tomorrow, so I will look at some then.
\nme: I've been trying to find a quote for the philo statement
\nhickeyk73: They seem to all be in the elementary and middle school section of pioneer wiki.
\nI saw that today. I reworded it.
\nand deleted the part that said "insert quote."
\nme: oh
\nlet me take a look
\nhickeyk73: Instead of saying "research says collaboration increases student achievement," I said "collaboration increases student achievement."
\nBut yeah, if you find a quote--great.
\nHow are you guys feeling so far about what we have accomplished?
\nmgarrison6: I feel great
\nI saw that Aida added her presentation
\nme: I'm very optimistic.
\nmgarrison6: I need to add that
\nI changed the name of the course content page
\nhickeyk73: I am feeling pretty good as well, and I think maneuvering the pioneer wiki is not so difficult.
\nme: On the presentation I'll redo the intor so it is much shorte
\nshorter
\nintro
\nmgarrison6: ok
\nhickeyk73: Oh, I remember something else I saw today. Some of our classmates embedded their Glogster right into their wiki page. Two people did it. I don't know if we should do it or not. I kind of like the clean look of linking to it.
\nSounds good Aida.
\nmgarrison6: I like having the link too
\nme: Me three
\nhickeyk73: There is one group that has an Xtranormal that is superfunny.
\nI think it is Emilie Buske-Ferman's group.
\nHer librarian is a superhero.
\nAnd she is wearing a costume with a coffee cup on the front because she always has fresh coffee for the teachers.
\nme: I think I saw that.
\nhickeyk73: And she does this funny raising her arms thing and then says something like "yes"
\nme: I did see that
\nhickeyk73: It is funny because the voices are so...
\nme: I loved it!
\nhickeyk73: Me, too. Very clever.
\nmgarrison6: That is mine and Kristin Coffield's!!! LOL! It's on OUR wiki!!!!!!
\nhickeyk73: No way!
\nI didn't know that.
\nmgarrison6: Thank you!!!!
\nhickeyk73: It was too funny.
\nI saw it today and laughed and laughed and thought I wish I had thought of something like that.
\nmgarrison6: Thanks, I wrote it, and Kristin put it in Xtranormal. We had a blast making it
\nhickeyk73: I love when she throws her arms up and then brings them down.
\nme: LOL
\nThat is too funny?
\n!!!!
\nmgarrison6: LOL
\nhickeyk73: :)
\nKudos to you and Kristen
\nKristin
\nmgarrison6: :)
\nme: Wow! With that on our presentation we'll be a hit!
\nQ:
\nmgarrison6: Your Prezi is awesome too Katie. I haven't looked at yours yet, Aida, but I'm sure it is too.
\nhickeyk73: I liked Aida's and Mary's prezi.
\nme: Two of our Pioneer pages have about a half inch top margin and the other doesn't have a margin. Shall we make it all the same?
\nhickeyk73: I wish I had age-appropriate booktrailers to add. The two I have created are for high school students.
\nOh yes, Aida, it would be good to do that.
\nme: On Mary and my prezi
\nhickeyk73: Yep?
\nme: do you think I should try to take out that first scene where it lists this course?
\nDo we want the half inch margin or not?
\nhickeyk73: Oh! If it is not too difficult, I think that is fine.
\nmgarrison6: no, I don't think that's necessary.
\nhickeyk73: Which do you think looks best?
\nHalf-inch margin or no margin?
\nme: I like it without the margin
\nhickeyk73: Then, let's delete the half-inch margins.
\nYou want to do it, or shall I?
\nme: that way the logo and the credit underneath it shows up when the page is first opened
\nhickeyk73: good point
\nme: Huh
\nits
\nnot letting me delete the margin on the Ed Ph and Back Inf page
\nIt looks like it deleted
\nhickeyk73: Okay, that is strange.
\nme: but when i save its still there
\nhickeyk73: Oh good
\nOh...wiki formatting issues again
\nYou want me to try? It probably won't make a difference, but you never know.
\nme: Sure go ahead
\nhickeyk73: Okay, give me a sec
\nSomething funny. I was able to delete margin on the collaboration and coteaching page, but not the personal content page.
\nNow, maybe we just need Melissa to go into that page and try to delete it, and it will work for her?
\nSince wikis are strange.
\nme: Maybe I need to take the heading out and redo it?
\nhickeyk73: That is an idea.
\nmgarrison6: I can try if you want
\nme: Go ahead
\nmgarrison6: ok, here goes
\nok, got it
\nit worked
\nme: Yeah!
\nThnak you
\nThank you
\nmgarrison6: :) you are welcome
\nme: Next Q
\nhickeyk73: It worked.
\nMan, isn't wiki formatting strange?
\nme: Make the logo credits and page links in TNR too?
\nTell me about it
\nOr
\nhickeyk73: I think so. TNR 12?
\nme: actually don't
\nI have plenty of experience with that
\nhickeyk73: I hear you
\nme: Ok
\nI've done that on the Ed Ph...page
\nhickeyk73: Where else do we need to do it?
\nIt's not hard to do, is it?
\nme: Not at all
\nhard
\nthe link lines on homepage are TNR 14
\nmake it smaller?
\n12?
\nhickeyk73: Well under Voki, if I did protocol, I think I did TNR 12 just to make it slightly smaller.
\nBut I don't know how consistent I have been.
\nme: Collab and Coteach page also has 14 links
\nchange to 12?
\nC & C has the logo credits in normal
\nChange to TNE 12?
\nhickeyk73: Melissa, what do you think?
\nme: Homepage vocaroo credit is ???not TNE
\nhickeyk73: My thinking is if they were like captions to do them slightly smaller in font, but I can go and change the home page links to TNR 14.
\nmgarrison6: ummm...
\nhickeyk73: Okay.
\nLet me fix that now. 12 or 14?
\nmgarrison6: I say slightly smaller...so 12 since the rest of the type is in 14
\nhickeyk73: I like 12 as well.
\nme: Me too
\nhickeyk73: Home Page links now TNR 12
\neven Vocaroo
\nme: HP links at bottom still look 14 to me
\nhickeyk73: Oh, you mean the page links?
\nI was going to keep those the same size as rest of text. I was thinking it is nice if they are big.
\nme: yes sorry for not being clearer
\nhickeyk73: But if you want, I can change them to 12.
\nI thought you were talking about the protocol and captions under our technology.
\nme: what do you think Melissa?
\nprotocol?
\nmgarrison6: It doesn't much matter to me...I'm not OCD (LOL!) Ok, I vote for 14
\nme: LOL
\nmgarrison6: I never noticed the margins either...lol
\nhickeyk73: :)
\nme: Ok I'll change the EP&... page links to 14
\nhickeyk73: Thanks Aida.
\nI am glad we have your eagle eye.
\nmgarrison6: yes
\nhickeyk73: I don't even pick up on some differences in font.
\nLike the Vocaroo link looked TNR to me until I actually changed it.
\nme: So now we have Heading 1
\nmgarrison6: I didn't either
\nme: text TNR 14
\ncredits TNR 12
\nwhat are the protocols?
\nhickeyk73: Yes
\nme: what I've been calling the credits?
\nhickeyk73: I think so.
\nLike, if you want to create your own Voki, go to ....
\nme: gotcha
\nhickeyk73: It is wording she used in one of our announcements.
\nCarrie and I talked about it and were unsure what we meant but that is what we guessed using the context she gave us.
\nme: Ahh
\nmush brain strikes again
\nhickeyk73: I am just itching to be done for the semester with all my work! Aren't you guys?
\nmgarrison6: yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
\nme: I thought I saw it somewhere
\nhickeyk73: I feel like we are so near....
\nmgarrison6: I have to finish my Practicum Report tomorrow
\nme: close close close
\nQ:
\nhickeyk73: I actually finished mine last Saturday.
\nmgarrison6: yay Katie! I'm jealous!
\nme: Collab & Coteach page
\nhickeyk73: Thank God. I just have this assignment, our final discussion board, and then a few things related to my job. But then I have to look for a job. Not so much fun.
\nme: the first para and the animoto look crowded
\nshould we insert a line space
\n?
\nhickeyk73: Well, Melissa, you are almost done.
\nOh yes, Aida, we should.
\nSorry.
\nI see what you mean by that. Hope the wiki will let us.
\nmgarrison6: I'll fix that
\nhickeyk73: Okay, and if it doesn't work for you, each of us can try cause you never know.
\nme: While your at it
\nhow about taking one line space out between the presentations and the chart?
\nmgarrison6: done
\nhickeyk73: Cool
\nmgarrison6: ok, Aida let me look at that
\nme: Ahhh that's much better
\nmgarrison6: I will do that after I insert your presentation
\nme: Homepage prob should have a line space between voki and intro
\nwhat do you think?
\nhickeyk73: I agree
\nLet me try to fix that
\nme: And one less line space between elev speech and lib services
\nOk Melissa
\nhickeyk73: I put one space in. How does it look?
\nmgarrison6: Actually, I went ahead and fixed it Aida. That way I won't forget
\nhickeyk73: Okay, I will go add space between elev spech and lib services
\nme: I just saw that . it looks good
\nMelissa
\nhickeyk73: Oh, you said one less space. I deleted. What do you think now?
\nLook good?
\nme: It looks better.
\nhickeyk73: great
\nmgarrison6: looks great
\nhickeyk73: So you guys, we are meeting again tomorrow night and going over the rubric together?
\nFor final revisions?
\nme: And I just deleted a line space on Ed Ph page between logo and Portrait
\nI was just going over the rubric
\nmgarrison6: My son has a band concert at 6:30, so I may have to just read your transcript
\nme: I think we are mostly good
\nhickeyk73: Me, too.
\nmgarrison6: me too
\nhickeyk73: Do we want to meet tomorrow night or just meet early evening on Friday to go over last minute stuff?
\nme: I'm concerned about the marketing tool and the "specific audience"
\nhickeyk73: I can meet tomorrow and again Friday if we want Melissa for the final meeting.
\nWhat is the concern?
\nme: Sure that works for me
\nI'll try to get home before 7 pm Fri
\nhickeyk73: Our specific audience is elementary teachers.
\nme: and I'm avail at ...7 tomorrow
\nhickeyk73: I think the brochure is geared towards them as well as the broader educational community.
\nI can meet at 7 pm tomorrow.
\nmgarrison6: I can meet Friday if necessary
\nhickeyk73: We can go over the rubric and post transcript for Melissa and have a final short meeting Friday right before we turn it all in.
\nme: Then let's meet Thurs and Fri
\nhickeyk73: We will need to figure out who is submitting the rubric and who is submitting the urls.
\nmgarrison6: yes
\nme: I'll do my thing with the persuasive pres on prezi and the intro to it
\nhickeyk73: I think the earlier we meet Friday, the better.
\nme: Oh
\nhickeyk73: And I will take my collaborative lesson plan and create a new page to clean it up.
\nme: was there an anwer to the question on how to cite the voki?
\nmgarrison6: she said it didn't have to be cited
\nhickeyk73: Yeah
\nmgarrison6: it is "built in"
\nme: Ok
\nso on the glogster
\nhickeyk73: I don't think you have to cite the glog either
\nme: I just say "Image from Voki.com"?
\nhickeyk73: I wasn't citing them at all. Just providing the link to creating it right below.
\nmgarrison6: yes, I think that is all that's needed
\nhickeyk73: She didn't do it on her example.
\nme: Ok
\nhickeyk73: So, you guys have any ideas on when we will be meeting Friday?
\n6 pm?
\n5 pm\/
\nme: Post to course content page discussion tab on wiki?
\nhickeyk73: I think so.
\nme: I don't get off from work until 5:30
\nhickeyk73: Okay
\nme: I should be home by 6 pm
\nhickeyk73: 6:30pm?
\nme: ok I can do 6:30
\nmgarrison6: that's good
\nhickeyk73: Then we can just submit our stuff at same time.
\nOkay 6:30 pm on Friday and 7pm Thursday.
\nand Aida, I saw that I put the wrong date on last night's transcript.
\nI can't believe I did that.
\nmgarrison6: sorry about Thursday, I forgot earlier this week about it
\nhickeyk73: No problem. It happens.
\nme: That's alright
\nto both
\nhickeyk73: Thanks
\nOkay ladies. Aida, are you the one posting tonight's transcript?
\nme: yes
\nI'll do that
\nhickeyk73: Okay, I will add to our calendar
\nme: Oh
\nhickeyk73: Shall we adjourn?
\nme: but i Missed the very beginning
\nI forgot that
\nmgarrison6: Yes, I think so
\nI can do it
\nhickeyk73: We didn't talk about anything related to this assignment.
\nmgarrison6: that's true
\nit's up to you Aida
\nme: go on ahead
\nyes
\nmgarrison6: so, Aida are you doing it?
\nor me?
\nme: yes I'll do it
\nmgarrison6: ok, thanks
\nme: Good night ladies
\nhickeyk73: Good night. See you tomorrow night, Aida.
\nmgarrison6: good night
\nhickeyk73: Have fun at the concert, Melissa
\nHope your son does well
\nmgarrison6: ok, thanks.
\nspring concert is always nice

\nI saw the Big 6 presentation you put in. I like the prezi presentation. I would not include that big of an intro. Maybe at the end of the intro to the inservice on Big6, you could say something like "If you would like to know more about the Big6 and implementing it into your classroom, please visit me at the library or email me so I can begin helping you today."--something like that. \nTranscript:
\n
\nme: Hi Melissa!
\nHow are you?
\nmgarrison6: Hello!
\nI'm fine thanks, how are you?
\nme: Pretty good.
\nI wanted to let you and Aida know that I asked that question about the elevator speech just a little while ago on the DB. I don't know when she will answer.
\nHopefully, we can stick with the Vocaroo.
\nmgarrison6: Yes, I saw it. I hope so too, but otherwise we could as some pics.
\nme: If we do, would you be able to add it to the Home Page. I don't have the codes or whatever's needed to add it--if it even needs a code. I just don't know how to do it.
\naal4me2 has opened the document.
\nmgarrison6: yes
\nfor the Vocaroo?
\nme: I saw a couple of groups and they are using Xtranormal and stuff like that to do theirs, but I have only looked at one or two--not all.
\nYes, for the Vocaroo
\nmgarrison6: yes, you have to put in the html code
\nme: I am trying to figure out how to add the pictures from Tagxedo.
\nmgarrison6: how did you add them to Wikispaces?
\nme: Once those are in, and the actual elevator speech is in, I think we will have the Home Page done, except for tweaking.
\nmgarrison6: are they saved images?
\naal4me2: Hi Katie and Melissa!
\nmgarrison6: Hi Aida!
\nme: I thought I had saved them in my computer, but I can't find them. I hope I don't have to recreate, but I was working on that right before I logged on here.
\nOh, did you see the Animoto video I did?
\nFor Course Content page?
\nI added it this afternoon.
\nmgarrison6: Yes, I really like it!
\nme: Hi Aida!
\nOh good. Please, if you see a slide that needs reworking, let me know by tomorrow night, so I can redo the video.
\naal4me2: New toys? Goody!
\nme: I just added to the Home Page on PB Works. Let me know what you guys think so far.
\nmgarrison6: the only thing I saw...was that the grass from the background covered up the last word with the Wordle
\nme: Okay, I will go back and fix that.
\nI didn
\n't
\nknow that background would do that.
\nmgarrison6: Katie, I was just able to save your bird Tagexedo to my computer
\nme: Oh yay!
\naal4me2: What did I miss?
\nSorry I'm late.
\nme: You aren't hardly late at all.
\nI was telling Melissa that I asked the question about our elevator speech to Dr. M on the DB
\nAnd except for adding in the actual elevator speech and the tagxedo word images, the Home Page is almost done.
\nI wanted you guys to look at it and see what you think.
\nOh, and I added the Animoto video intro to the Course content page on our wikispaces wiki and if you see anything I need to redo, let me know by tomorrow night.
\nAlso, I have not gotten to the intros for the prezi vide yet on the Course Content page, nor have I linked my collaborative lesson. Those are the next things I need to do.
\naal4me2: Yay! We're coming along.
\nme: I know!
\nEverything is drawing to a close.
\nmgarrison6: I added a simple intro to your Prezi and my Xtranormal
\nme: Great!
\nThanks.
\nSo I just need to get my lesson plan for A.4.2 linked.
\nmgarrison6: I also just added the bird Tagexedo
\nme: Cool!
\nmgarrison6: yep
\nme: I was thinking we could add the hands in as well and the slogan above them
\nmgarrison6: I like how you made the subject headings big and green, and the elevator speech red
\nYes, I agree.
\naal4me2: Should we make each page equally colorful?
\nme: I think so. I have to admit that I was perusing other people's from previous years, and their final pages gave me the idea.
\nmgarrison6: I think so too, it just looks really pretty and stands out
\nme: Pretty is good! And so is standing out.
\nmgarrison6: :)
\nme: Oh, Aida, I like the way the resume looks in the Personal Content page.
\naal4me2: What do you think of the intros to the items on the Ed Philo & Backgrnd page?
\nShould I add more to them?
\nme: One sec, let me find those pages.
\nmgarrison6: I like how the resume looks too.
\nI think your intros are good. I don't think they should be short and to the point.
\naal4me2: I just noticed that the two "August"s don't line up
\nmgarrison6: I DO think they should be short...I mean
\nme: I like the resume. What are the two bars, though, to the right of some of the lines in the resume? Do you see them?
\nI like the intros as well.
\naal4me2: Glad to know it, :)
\nmgarrison6: are you looking at the wiki or the document of the resume?
\nI don't see 2 lines
\naal4me2: The wiki
\nThe dates in the experience aren't lining up
\nmgarrison6: I didn't even notice that
\nme: One thing on the Glog intro. You have: "a portrait of characteristics that make her an ideal instructional partner."What about changing that to something like: "a portrait that shows why she is an ideal instructional partner."
\nGood eye on the dates, Aida
\naal4me2: Good eye or OCD ;)
\nme: OCD can really come in handy
\nmgarrison6: Ok, check out the course content page and give me your suggestions
\nme: Okay, going there now.
\naal4me2: I'm making note of the suggested change
\nme: In the wikispaces wiki, I had named that page: Theon Elementary Library's Collaborative Lessons & In-Service Presentation. I don't know that we need to keep it exactly like that, but I would change the name away from Course Content to something that reflects the content of the page and put it at the top (centered) as the heading.
\nThat is my first suggestion.
\nmgarrison6: I agree
\naal4me2: Q: Do we want to make the fonts the same on each page? I made the Ed and BGround page times new roman at 12 pts for the text and the headings Verdana at 18 pts mainly because the resume is in times new roman
\nme: Maybe something like: Librarian and Teacher Collaboration and Lesson Planning Is the Answer! (or Key)
\nI basically have used Times Roman and the Heading 1.
\nFor headings, I think I just used Heading 1 and for text I used Times Roman 12
\nOr maybe I used the normal font, which is not Times Roman
\nI think I used Normal
\nmgarrison6: I agree that we should use the same fonts
\nme: Ditto
\naal4me2: me three
\nme: Okay
\nCould we keep the default Heading 1 for the Headings though?
\nAnd everything else in Times Roman Numeral 12?
\nI don't know if it is me, but everytime I try to change my fonts, they don't always work right. It is like I have some kind of reverse Midas touch.
\nmgarrison6: I have the same problem
\nme: I had a few problems on PB works even tonight. I thought it was just a wikispaces issue. Not!
\nmgarrison6: sometimes I have to completely re-type things...and that is frustrating
\nlike I had to retype some TEKS for my collaborative lesson plan because I couldn't get the font to change
\nme: Oh, I need to look at rest of Course Content page. Sorry Melissa...got sidetracked
\naal4me2: It looks good Melissa
\nme: I think we may need to add in a one-line intro to the lesson plans. It will help when I get my intro transferred over from wikispaces.
\naal4me2: So all it need is the animoto intro?
\nme: I have the intro in wikispaces.
\nI just need y'all's feedback.
\nmgarrison6: thanks Aida. I was thinking about a lesson plan intro too.
\nglad you brought that up
\nme: I know I need to redo one slide, so will have to take out a slide and redo it.
\naal4me2: If we change to font of the chart will it jinx it?
\nme: I can transfer the video over tomorrow.
\nmgarrison6: I don't think it would jinx it
\naal4me2: The font on the logo credits
\nchange to Heading 1, Times new Roman or leave as is (the default)?
\nmgarrison6: I would leave it...it shouldn't be very big
\nme: logo credits, I would keep small, not Heading 1.
\naal4me2: Make smaller than is now?
\nme: I like it as it is now.
\nmgarrison6: I do too, as long as it is smaller than other text
\naal4me2: Times new Roman will come out about the same size
\nme: Okay
\naal4me2: TNR at 12 that is
\nmgarrison6: The font on the home page looks bigger than on the course content page
\nme: I did it tonight, and I wasn't looking at the fonts on the other pages. Sorry.
\nI basically used Heading 1 for the headings.
\nAnd the Normal font size 12 for text
\nmgarrison6: Katie, I like your fonts better than what I used
\naal4me2: is it the default font?
\nme: I will have to check to see exactly if I fiddled with other fonts. I just like to be able to see the text because sometimes my eyesight is not so good.
\nAida, I think so. I think it is defaulted to Normal. Not 100% sure.
\naal4me2: I agree. That's why on my BB OD posts I change it to Verdana, nice and big
\nand I like the clean look of sans serif fonts
\nbut it will be easier to read in a serif font like TNR
\nme: I can go with whatever font you guys want, but if I am unable to change it, I may call on one of you to help me. Like I said, when I go back and try to change my fonts is when I run into trouble.
\nIt's a curse
\nmgarrison6: Ok, I just checked, and i had used a 10 point font. I will change it to 12
\nI would like to match your font Katie, I like it.
\naal4me2: You know
\nme: Melissa, I was wondering if you could add in the Hands Word Cloud to Home page, and then I will add in the slogans and the protocol.
\naal4me2: I'm finding it very aggravating to have to scroll down to the bottom to change pages
\nmgarrison6: sure, I can do that now
\nme: Shall we put the links at the top as well?
\nBottom and top?
\nThanks Melissa
\nmgarrison6: hmmm...I don't know about bottom and top
\naal4me2: I'd like to but it might mess up how purty the top looks
\nme: Think on it, and if you decide we should, I will go with it.
\nWe could do it in the top left in a smaller font.
\naal4me2: Do we want to make all the page headers red?
\nme: to set a part from heading
\nI think so
\naal4me2: Or shall we use another of our logo book colors?
\nme: I used the More Colors font button and selected a deeper red,b ut don't remember the number of red
\nLike each page has a different heading color--from the logo?
\naal4me2: yes
\nme: Like, I am red, someone else is blue, another green?
\nI think that is fine.
\nI like color
\naal4me2: Me too
\nI choose green :)
\nmgarrison6: I like blue
\nI just added the hand
\nme: Great! Red, green, blue
\nThanks so much Melissa!
\nmgarrison6: you're welcome
\nme: What takes you seconds, takes me a looooong time.
\nmgarrison6: lol...you have to download it on the right side of the wiki
\nme: :)
\nI don't want to seem cocky or anything, but I think we are not going to have a problem doing the final review Thursday.
\nIt seems as if we are sailing along.
\naal4me2: Ha Ha
\nmgarrison6: Me either, I think it is awesome!
\naal4me2: I just noticed that the homepage is all in first person. I think I should change the personal content to first person too
\nme: Okay.
\nAnother good catch.
\nmgarrison6: yep
\naal4me2: Q: the elevator speech doesn't have its own heading
\nwill one be added?
\nMaybe it doesn't need it since elevator speech is nice and big and red?
\nmgarrison6: I like the red, but it probably should have a green heading too
\nme: I wasn't going to do a traditional heading, I was going to have it in red, but if you think we need to change it, we can. I was looking to see what some others have done, and I wasn't doing exactly what they did, but I was modeling after them. I can add in a green heading.
\nYeah, I am looking at it. I agree. It needs to have the green heading
\nmgarrison6: we got an answer to our question from Dr. M.:
\nDear Katie, My example for the elevator speech is a podcast only... no pizzazz... http:\/\/twupioneerschoollibrary.pbworks.com\/w\/page\/23811995\/H_S_Perez<\/a> My opinion is you can overdo it. Also, if you choose different tools with visuals, you will most likely have different avatars... That's confusing to me.... With the logo\/slogan, Voki introduction, the podcast elevator speech, and the downloadable brochure, my feeling is this page has plenty of pizzazz! Best, Dr. M.
\nyay!
\nme: Great!
\nSo we don't need to redo it.
\nmgarrison6: there was another interesting question about adding things from other courses
\nme: Melissa, you can add in your vocaroo.Whoohoo!
\nmgarrison6: she said that was fine to use other course assignments.
\nYay! I will do that.
\n(add the vocarroo)
\naal4me2: We can?
\nWoo hoo!
\nme: I saw that earlier. I think if we each add in our collaborative lesson plans plus the two in-service presentations--that is a good sampling. We could have an intro that says, "Here is a sampling of collaborative lesson plans...For more, check out the Collaborative Archive on Theon Elementary Webpage," or something like that.
\naal4me2: I just changed the heading for the PC page. What do you think?
\nmgarrison6: I guess if any of us has anything else from other courses, just add it to the wikispaces for all three of us to see.
\nme: I like the heading
\naal4me2: Ahhhh. I don't remember what I've done in other courses! My mind is mush!
\nmgarrison6: lol...me too Aida
\nI like the heading too
\naal4me2: The inservice presentation I have is for Pathways to Knowledge too and it is geared toward the students
\nme: I can't think of anything to add from other courses either.
\nmgarrison6: ok, that sounds good to me
\naal4me2: Mush mush mush
\nThat presentation was for Big 6 but its still for the kids
\nme: I just added the slogans to the Tagxedo cloud images, and I changed the green font headings to the same color of green. I think once the Vocaroo is added, it is almost completely finished.
\nJust have to give it a read through with fresh eyes later--my mind is mush as well.
\naal4me2: So do we want my persuasive presentation?
\nme: You guys want to break for tonight and meet again tomorrow around 7:30 pm?
\nSorry Aida, I just saw your question.
\naal4me2: Its a prezi
\nme: I think it is fine to add your presentation.
\nmgarrison6: I do too
\nme: Our elementary school goes up to 6th grade.
\naal4me2: I'll add it to your wiki so you can see it
\nme: Big 6 is for th5th and up
\nOkay.
\nmgarrison6: okay
\naal4me2: We made it for 3rd and th graders
\nI'll add it
\nme: That is great! Sounds like it will fit perfectly.
\naal4me2: so you can see it
\nmgarrison6: great
\naal4me2: Ok
\nme: I will look at it.
\naal4me2: so we change fonts to Heading 1 adn TNR 12
\nmgarrison6: yes
\naal4me2: ok
\nme: yep
\nI haven't changed to TNR yest
\nyet
\naal4me2: I wil change the intro to the poster
\nme: Okay.
\naal4me2: and make it all first person
\nme: I will fix that slide on Animoto and add into our Course Content page
\naal4me2: 7:30 Wed is good for me
\nme: Plus, I will link my collaborative lesson plan.
\nI won't fix Animoto til I go to McDonalds and use their Wi-Fi tomorrow. My Internet is too slow for major technology.
\nI am good for 7:30 pm
\nmgarrison6: I'll add Vocaroo and change fonts and work on course content page. (which I will rename)
\naal4me2: We're getting there.
\nme: Cool
\nYes, we are.
\naal4me2: Excellent job ladies!
\nmgarrison6: Yes, thank you both!!!
\nme: If I am working tomorrow and want to make a revision suggestion, can I do so and just highlight it for y'all's approval on the pb works wiki?
\nYes, thank you both as well.
\nmgarrison6: sure, that would be helpful
\nme: Great!
\naal4me2: That's fine. Did ya'll get to review the poster?
\nme: Let me do that now.
\naal4me2: Any changes to be made to it?
\nmgarrison6: looks great
\nme: I have accessed it but the pictures are downloading--my ISP is slow
\naal4me2: Oh, and I'll try to line up the dates on the resume
\nme: Maybe we need to add that the picture is from Voki.com,
\nIt says Voki, but not voki.com
\nOh, and I saw a comma error.
\nI have a passion for libraries, and collaboration with students and teachers
\nOn the sentence above, delete the comma
\naal4me2: ok on the comma
\ntry to add voki.com near the voki or in the works consulted box
\n?
\nme: Works Consulted would be fine.
\nOh, and a period is needed in
\nIn the Jung Typology I am an ISFJ, a Protector\/Nurturer
\nIn the above sentence, put a period after Nurturer.
\naal4me2: oky doky
\nme: That is all I see.
\nIt looks great, and I love the color scheme.
\naal4me2: Q: since "two heads are bette than one" is really from various sources, should I take out Dr. Ms name?
\nme: Oh, and comma after Typology in above sentence.
\nYes. That is common knowledge.
\nSo we don't need to cite.
\naal4me2: Hm I
\ndon't know about that comma
\nme: It is an introduction longer than three words, generally, there is a comma for introductory phrases longer than three words.
\nBut, if you don't think it will matter, you don't need to put it in.
\naal4me2: News to me
\nOk will do
\nI'll put it in
\nI want to be grammatically correct
\nit to be...
\nme: Of course I tell you this as I write a sentence fragment above and leave off my periods in our chat. Really good example I am.
\nSee, another fragment.
\nAnd another.
\nSorry
\naal4me2: and don't forget all the short cuts in spelling
\nme: :)
\naal4me2: :)
\nWho shall paste into discuss tab?
\nme: Which thread should we put this transcript in?
\nI can paste it.
\nWe do not have lots on the Course Content Discussion, but I know we were all over the place.
\nmgarrison6: I don't think it matters too much where you put it
\nsince we are wrapping it up
\naal4me2: I think last time i put it in the home page tab
\nyup there it is
\nme: Okay, I will put this one in the Course Content page discussion.
\nAnd preface with the fact that the discussion addresses all the pages.
\naal4me2: Sounds good
\nmgarrison6: that works
\naal4me2: Well then
\nme: Well, I will get to work copying and pasting and see you both tomorrow at 7:30 pm
\naal4me2: good night ladies
\nme: Good night
\naal4me2: see ya tomorrow at 7:30","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"38513912","body":"It's actually May 3 but where all tired and ready to call it a day.","dateCreated":"1304476301","smartDate":"May 3, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"Hypatia4","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Hypatia4","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"38564380","body":"Awwwww man! \n...
\naal4me2:
\nThanks to you both for your feedback yesterday on A.4.2
\nmgarrison6: you're welcome, Dr. M's email really confused us so much at first
\nme: I am sorry I wasn't much help yesterday with your email. My partner Carrie and I only specified the objectives for the lesson we developed in detail and not for the entire unit.
\nAnd we have only done the standards for that one lesson as well.
\naal4me2: Genie and I haven't discussed the results yet.
\nmgarrison6: that's opposite of my partner and I...
\nme: I have a question. Do we need a print Graphic Organizer, or is it a Cacoo.com one okay?
\nI know. I saw your email, Melissa.
\nI just don't know.
\naal4me2: Are your students going to use it online?
\nmgarrison6: I don't know either...I'm not sure
\nme: Well, we were going to give them a print one and have them create and fill out the same one on Cacoo.com, but also fill out the print one.
\nJust don't know if that is good or not.
\nThey are working in pairs.
\nAnd taking turns with filling in Cacoo and the print GRaphic Org.
\nI find lesson planning very hard.
\naal4me2: Me too.
\nmgarrison6: In my lesson, the students are using a flow-chart on paper, and then creating the same thing on Kidspiration
\nme: Okay, so that is similar to what Carrie and I are doing.
\nThat is good to know.
\nmgarrison6: yes, the paper one is their "notemaking" page
\nme: Awwww....
\nGotcha.
\naal4me2: Are the paper ones to be done first and then transfer to Cacoo\/Webspiration? If so then the paper one is like a rough draft?
\nmgarrison6: Dr. M. said something like, "yay, there's the notemaking"
\nyes, I guess you could call it that
\nme: Well, in our lesson plan, the students will complete the paper and online one simultaneously. One partner will fill in the print, and the other the Cacoo, and then they will take turns going from print to online.
\nmgarrison6: Our students are getting info from books and webpages and taking down the info onto the paper copy
\nme: One reason...they will use this to complete their final assignment and they may not have access to the computers.
\nYes, ours will be pulling info from their biographies.
\naal4me2: Ahh. That makes sense.
\nmgarrison6: In my scenerio, the teacher used to stop with the paper copy. The librarian taught the teacher to integrate technology
\nme: Oh that is a great idea, Melissa.
\nGood scenario.
\nmgarrison6: thanks, your sounds good too
\nme: Grazi. So what are you guys thinking about our project? I didn't really add anything. I just read what you added Melissa, and I made a comment in the notes, and I moved my in-service example to number 4.
\naal4me2: How nice to be able to share our ideas and concerns with others that may have a good idea for adjustments that can be made.
\nme: Yes. I just wish I could answer some of the questions definitively.
\naal4me2: I saw the A.1.4 chart ya'll did. I didn't even think of that.
\nmgarrison6: I agree with your comments Katie about the T chart
\naal4me2: since I have one too.
\nme: Me either. I didn't think of it until Melissa added it. Good thinking
\nOkay, great.
\nmgarrison6: we can use that info and not RE research it
\nme: That is something we could do. Copy and paste the charts in and then begin to paraphrase and merge the two and keep the works cited and in-text citations.
\naal4me2: Should we add some quotes\/notes from our reading and other articles?
\nme: I think if you have some in mind, why not?
\nmgarrison6: we could add stuff from Dr. M's book
\nme: Good idea.
\nWhen do we want to have this section done--with the chart?
\naal4me2: Let's see. We have two weeks to turn in the assignment.
\nme: That is right. Oh my--where is the time going?
\naal4me2: And we still need to see how we incorporate one or more of our LPs
\nme: Yes.
\nmgarrison6: I'm finished with my Practicum (yay) so I should have some time next week to work on it
\nme: Aren't you glad?
\nmgarrison6: YES :)
\nme: I still have to do my journal and my final paper.
\nI have my journal handwritten and have to type it up.
\nYuck.
\nmgarrison6: me too
\naal4me2: When are those due?
\nmgarrison6: I've still got a few days to type up, but done most of it
\nMine is due May 6th
\nme: I do not have a set date, but probably same as Melissa's. I am going to try to do it within this next week. It won't be too difficult, but just need to sit down and do it.
\naal4me2: The same day as this A is due?
\nmgarrison6: yep
\nme: Oh, I didn't think of that.
\nmgarrison6: I asked my advisor when he wanted it
\nme: I guess I had better get crackin on mine so I don't feel pressure about it.
\naal4me2: I think you just did.
\nFeel pressure, I mean.
\nme: Yep, you are right.
\nmgarrison6: are you sure you have to type up your journal? My advisor told me to just put it in my portfolio. I know every advisor is different though
\naal4me2: Should I put a link to my Tchart in the wiki?
\nme: Aida, yes. And Melissa, do you have a hard copy portfolio?
\nI don't have one of those.
\nI think she will want mine submitted electronically, and honestly, it is scattered and messy.
\nmgarrison6: no, no hardcopy.
\nI just have to use my journal entries to help me write my paper
\nme: oh, that is good
\nOh!
\nI have to turn in the journal and the paper.
\nmgarrison6: oh ok.
\njust trying to save you some time
\nme: thanks
\nMaybe I should ask my professor just in case.
\nWouldn't want to do extra work.
\nmgarrison6: no doubt
\nme: Okay, so we need the link to Aida's wiki, and then we can create our charts using that information. Do we need to cite our own wiki charts?
\naal4me2: I just put in the link.
\nmgarrison6: I guess it depends how much we change it up...I don't know
\nme: Awesome!
\nAwesome about the link. And I guess you are right about how much we change it up.
\naal4me2: Using EasyBib should make doing citations for both our pages fairly easy.
\nJust to be on the safe side.
\nme: True.
\nThanks goodness for EasyBib.
\nmgarrison6: yes
\naal4me2: Do we want to put in a T chart or link to it, or make a separate page for it that is linked too?
\nme: Ummmm... I think maybe we should copy and paste the charts in.
\nAnd keep it all on one page to show th work.
\nmgarrison6: I agree
\nme: Also, we can easily refer to them both if they are on one page, and we will create our new one based on those two
\naal4me2: Then the course content page is going to be very full
\nme: Yes. Is there an allowance on the space allowed?
\naal4me2: Not that I know of but we're going to have three T charts on it.
\nme: I am open to creating another page if you want to. I was just thinking of the Discussion Tabs and how that adds one more we have to think about.
\nOnce we get ours done, we could delete the other two.
\naal4me2: Oh how true. Ugh
\nmgarrison6: Katie and I were partners, so there is only 2 Tcharts
\naal4me2: Could work
\nme: Or is our wiki just to reveal our planning and the final stuff is transferred over to Dr. M's site?
\naal4me2: It will be three if we merge into a new one.
\nme: Or does our wiki need to be cleaned up in the end and look finished?
\nmgarrison6: oh.gotcha,
\naal4me2: Or might it be better just to make changes to one of the existing ones?
\nme: You know...We could do that Aida and just link to yours.
\nmgarrison6: we are transferring everything to the Pioneer WIKI
\nme: That would keep the page from being too busy.
\nThanks, Melissa. I forgot the Pioneer WIKI.
\naal4me2: Then we don't have to clean up Katie's wiki?
\nmgarrison6: I don't think so
\nme: Okay, so we copy and paste in one t-chart and link the other and work from the one.
\nI think we should ask Dr. M.
\nmgarrison6: I think she's grading from the Pioneer wiki
\naal4me2: Ok. Then we just need to make sure we keep track if which is the final one.
\nmgarrison6: wouldn't hurt to ask...good idea
\nme: whether or not we need to clean up the wiki or is it just to show our work like a draft.
\nMaybe everything we finalize we can change to a black font to indicate that portion is done?
\nLike keep the different fonts, but copy and paste the final version and make it all black?
\nmgarrison6: that would work
\naal4me2: sounds good to me
\nme: cool
\nmgarrison6: did either of you email her for the other wiki access? If not, I will do that
\naal4me2: Which shall we paste onto the page to start with? I'm willing to use mine.
\nme: Oh, I haven't done that yet.
\nOkay, Melissa. That would be great.
\naal4me2: Me neither.
\nPlease do. Thanks.
\nme: Aida, that would be great. We can use yours.
\nAnd ours is linked.
\nI can post a question on the DB tomorrow for Dr. M regarding whether or not our current wiki needs to be cleaned up.
\naal4me2: Ok I just did but haven't saved yet. should I leave in that the blue and green are Mary and me?
\nmgarrison6: I would leave it
\nme: Leave it for now.
\nWe will delete as we change it up.
\naal4me2: Ok done.
\nme: Great!
\naal4me2: Well that came out funky. Take a look.
\nme: Oh wow! Yes it did.
\naal4me2: That T chart really was a T chart! What happened to it? These Web 2.0 tools.
\nme: wickispaces is wacko I say. Maybe we should just create the chart within the wiki and link to both of our T-charts?
\naal4me2: (exasperation expressed)
\nme: Amen
\nor shall I say, dittto.
\nmgarrison6: ditto from me too
\naal4me2: Me three
\nWe could just leave it in and delete as we go
\nme: Sure.
\nBut create a new chart?
\naal4me2: The new chart can go right below the link to mine.
\nThat way the my chart gets push down as we fill the new one in
\nme: Okay
\nmgarrison6: okay
\naal4me2: Q: Does wikispaces allow for adding cells to a table as you go like you can in Word or are you stuck with what we start out with?
\nI forget what happened before
\nme: I am not sure. I think you can add rows. Not sure about columns
\nDoes that make sense?
\nmgarrison6: I'm not sure either
\nme: I think if you press enter at the end of the last row, you get a new row. Not sure how to create more columns though.
\naal4me2: Just tried to add new rows be "entering" and it just extended the last cell. If I did it out side the chart it just added blank lines underneathe the chart
\nme: huh
\nI am stumped.
\nDo we want to just do away with the chart
\naal4me2: Can we do it here in google docs?
\nme: And list headings that tell the benefits and then the literature support underneath
\nWe could do it, but it may mess up in the transfer.
\naal4me2: We already saw how beautiful that can be.
\n:)
\nme: You guys want to work on creating the chart in Google docs?
\naal4me2: I just tried to add rows to the calendar here on gd but to no avail :(
\nmgarrison6: I guess it depends if we want to risk the transfer
\naal4me2: Maybe we should create it elsewhere and just link to it.
\nme: Okay.
\nmgarrison6: that works
\nme: But how will we show our work? and when will each of us access it?
\naal4me2: I have an unused page I set up in google docs. I can set you two up as members
\nand do it there
\nme: okay--that's great
\naal4me2: Oh wait I guess none members won't be able to get into it
\nOr can they?
\nTo view?
\nme: oh, that's right.
\nmgarrison6: will Google Docs transfer ok to a word doc?
\nme: let's just try it on the wiki and maybe one of us will need to retype it in pioneer wiki--I can do that if we need to. Dr. M said that pioneer wiki is easier to use.
\nNot always. Formatting gets messed up with an essay anyway, not sure about a chart
\nWe could just write a benefits statement and not do the chart.
\nTo simplify this process.
\nAnd we could see how others have done theirs or how the examples given to us did it.
\naal4me2: I just experimented with the gd calendar and pasted it onto word.
\nme: How did it look?
\naal4me2: It transfered great and now it allows me to add rows
\nme: Cool.
\nmgarrison6: cool
\naal4me2: So maybe we can create it here and then transfer to a word doc
\nme: Okay, so we will do this from the document you set up and then we will transfer and link to our wiki page.
\nGrea
\ngreat
\nYes, we can do it here.
\naal4me2: Other wise we can just do the statements with out the chart.
\nme: That won't be a problem
\neither way, I am a go.
\nWhat do you both want to do? statement or chart?
\nmgarrison6: statement is fine with me since the chart seems problematic
\naal4me2: The chart would be nicer to look at once we have it set up right
\nbut the statements will be easier to set up right
\nmgarrison6: I do agree with you Aida
\naal4me2: Also, if we decide we want an additional section, say for administrator benefits, we can just do a third subheading or something like that
\non a statement method
\nthat is
\nme: We could do that, but our audience is elementary teachers and we are focusing on the benefits to them. Do we need to include administrators?
\nOr do we gear our persuasion to how the teacher's will benefit?
\naal4me2: We could if they want something they can show their administrators
\nme: That would work
\nmgarrison6: I think we should include admin
\naal4me2: It says:
\n"statement or table about the benefits of coteaching to specific audiences"
\nthat could include administrators
\nme: But does "specific audiences" mean the specific one we are targeting in our marketing and advertising?
\naal4me2: The rubric says
\nthat the voki intro and e speech is "especially engaging for the audience (preservice educators and administrators)."
\nme: Aaahhh!
\nNote to self: check rubric
\nThanks for pointing that out.
\nI should have had my rubric handy.
\nSo we are doing statements? not a chart?
\nmgarrison6: We could do statements...then if we desire, transfer them to a chart at the end
\nme: That's a good plan.
\naal4me2: Yes.
\nwe can do that
\nmgarrison6: ok
\naal4me2: One other thing
\nWe should probably start comparing what we have to the rubric so we can start making any tweeks
\nme: I agree.
\naal4me2: For instance
\n"The marketing tool is targeted for a specific audience. It capitalizes on the slogan adn provides exemplary examples of ways the school librarian serves as an instructional partner."
\nand
\n(spelling correction)
\nme: We probably need to add in the slogan more in our brochure then
\nI just don't now where.
\naal4me2: That's what I was thinking.
\nI don't know either.
\nmgarrison6: Is there any way to put it on the front of it?
\nme: Like on every page, we need to have some phrase that inserts in bold that Reading Is Bound to Happen
\nI think so.
\nJust delete the quote I had. We could move the quote elsewhere or delete altogether
\naal4me2: I can do that.
\nmgarrison6: If we had to, we could just change it without the books graphic
\nme: Yes, we do need to go over the rubric with a fine tooth comb
\n to ensure that we hit all points and quadruple check for errors
\nmgarrison6: yes, I agree
\n
\naal4me2: Well we are definitely collaborating
\nmgarrison6: that's the key I think...lack of collaboration
\nme: Yes.
\naal4me2: Woo hoo s to all of us
\n!!!
\nme: We do rock!
\nmgarrison6: yes!
\naal4me2: Are we done for tonight?
\nme: yes
\nWhen do we meet next?
\nmgarrison6: I think so
\naal4me2: Want to meet Sunday?
\nme: What time?
\naal4me2: I'm avail. late afternoon and eve.
\nme: 4 pm like last time?
\naal4me2: Yes.
\nHow about you Melissa
\nare you available
\n?
\nmgarrison6: I might be at my parent's house.
\non Sunday (Easter)
\naal4me2: Want to meet sat
\nme: Oh! How could I forget?! Duh.
\naal4me2: ?
\nme: I am having an Easter Egg hunt for my niece and nephews that day, but probably in the morning. I can meet in the afternoon then.
\n4pm?
\nmgarrison6: I may not get a chance to work on this until Monday
\naal4me2: Ok
\nthen maybe
\nmgarrison6: I'm heading to Arlington tomorrow
\naal4me2: next week we'll be puting finishing touches on A.4.2
\nputting
\nmgarrison6: that's true
\nI guess we can shoot for 4pm on Sunday
\naal4me2: I'm not avial on Mond
\nme: Well, we can work asynchronously next week, and everyone can just do what they can when they can and say let's have done what we discussed by next Saturday?
\nThat way Aida can work on it this week.
\nweekend
\nI can work on it this weekend as well.
\naal4me2: Ok
\nme: Melissa, you can work on it Monday or whenever.
\nAnd then reconvene next Saturday?
\nmgarrison6: ok, if you two want to discuss it without me before Monday feel free
\nme: We can use the discussion tabs.
\nJust to keep each other informed of what we have done and questions we have.
\nmgarrison6: ok
\naal4me2: ok
\nme: Okay! So let's put down the next meeting for a week from this Saturday. What time?
\naal4me2: Then we'll set a specific time for Sat next week sometime during the week
\n?
\nme: Sounds good
\nmgarrison6: sounds good
\nme: Do we post this transcript in Course content page?
\naal4me2: Yes
\nI think so
\nme: I can do that.
\nmgarrison6: ok, great
\naal4me2: with maybe that little bit on the brochure on the personal content page","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":true},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
