Portfolio Work Samples by Katie Hickey
The following are a few selected examples of my work from the past two years in the Masters of Library Science program through Texas Woman's University.

Sample 1: http://shakespearesfaeriedust.edu.glogster.com/hickey-librarian-collaborator/

This is a Glog poster I created through Glogster for my Librarians as Instructional Partners class. The Glog poster reveals a portrait of me as a collaborator.

Sample 2:

Booktrailer: //A Step from Heaven// by An Na

I created this booktrailer for my Advanced Young Adult Literature class taught by Dr. Sylvia Vardell in the Fall of 2010. I used Window Movie Maker to create the video.

Sample 3:

Booktrailer: //Life as We Knew It// by Susan Beth Pfeffer

I created this booktrailer for my High School Library Practicum in the Spring of 2011. I used Animoto to create the booktrailer and uploaded the trailer to YouTube.

Sample 4:

Video: The Library & Super 3

This video was created by me for a collaborative persuasive assignment for my Librarians as Instructional Partners class taught by Dr. Judi Moreillon. (Note: Emilie, my partner, helped me splice the music selections together.) This video is included in my Prezi presentation created with Emilie Buske-Ferman. One of the goals of the video and Prezi is to promote librarian-teacher collaboration in using the Super 3 inquiry method.

Sample 5:

Prezi: Super 3

This Prezi was created in collaboration with Emilie Buske-Ferman in Spring 2011 for a persuasive presentation assignment promoting librarian and teacher collaboration and inquiry units.

Sample 6:

Vokis: The following are a couple of Vokis I have created for use in various projects and presentations.

Sample 7:

Blog: YA Literature Blog

I created this blog for my Advanced Literature for YA's class. This class was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me. I love to read all types of literature for all ages, but I have recently developed a strong interest in YA literature thanks in larger part to this class.

Sample 8: Marketing-Advocacy Project

The above sample reflects a semester long project created in collaboration with Aida Lugo, Melissa Garrison, and myself using various Web 2.0 tools. The project was assigned by Dr. Judi Moreillon for Texas Woman's University's Librarians as Instructional Partners class. The goal of this project is to advocate and market the library and promote librarian-teacher collaboration.

Web 2.0 (not created by me, but a valuable resource that needs to be shared)

**Web 2.0 Tool Resources**: This is an awesome resource page created by Dr. Judi Moreillon for her LS 5443 Librarians as Instructional Partner's class. It provides an annotated list of Web 2.0 tools for use in education.
